We are discussing the details of the settlement and preparing the meeting of the presidents. We have reached many achievements over the past five years since the beginning of Prague process. There are difficulties in the rapprochement of the positions. But the negotiations are moving forward”, said Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov at the international conference “Azerbaijan in global policy: formation of foreign policy”, APA reports. “I would like to say that the negotiations are moving with mid-speed, but it is very slowly”.

The minister said that Azerbaijan intended to develop the negotiations. “Azerbaijan’s position remains steady. Armenian armed forces must be withdrawn from the occupied lands, the lands must be liberated, internally displaced persons must return to their homeland, and after that the status of Nagorno Karabakh should be discussed. The current status-quo of the Nagorno Karabakh problem is unsatisfactory. Armenia also understands that. Azerbaijan will never agree with this status-quo”.
