Bahar Muradova says mutual visits of Azerbaijani and Armenian intellectuals are normal

Elbrus Seyfullayev â€“ APA. â€œNagorno Karabakh status referendum couldnâ€™t be put on agenda before the withdrawal of Armenian troops, before the restoration of territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, before the return of Nagorno Karabakhâ€™s Azerbaijani community to their homeland and restoration of their civil rightsâ€, said vise speaker of the parliament Bahar Muradova at a press conference on Tuesday. She said it was incorrect to claim for discussion of any issue out of the negotiations over the Nagorno Karabakh problem. She said stage-by-stage process was going on toward the settlement of the conflict.

The vise speaker said she had not a negative opinion about the mutual visits of Azerbaijani and Armenian intellectuals and added that such â€œpeopleâ€™s diplomacyâ€ visits are normal. â€œI consider that it could be supportive for the activity of the presidents and the negotiations they hold. We are participants of the peace talks and we accepted the OSCE Minsk Group mediation. Such visits are the part of meditative activity. After the current intensification of the negotiations and President Ilham Aliyevâ€™s recent statements that there is a progress in the negotiation process, such actions could be acceptableâ€.
