APA quotes IzRus as saying that the president spoke about his visits to Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan and said Azerbaijan was populated almost by Muslims. “President Aliyev told me that there never was anti-Semitism there. I didn’t see a little hate to the Jewish people there. Azerbaijan is very interesting country because it has a culture developed long before the discovery of underground resources. Azerbaijan is one for the first countries which gave right of vote to women and it took place there before the United States and Sweden. I saw respect to the Jewish population and to Chabad representatives there”.

Peres said he had very interesting visit to Kazakhstan too. “I was an honorable guest at the congress of leaders of traditional religions. When I addressed the congress, the Iranian representative left the room. I thought that it was better. So far we were leaving and no one was joining us and this time they left and we stayed there. For the first time I felt that I am together with Muslim majority and they don’t leave us. The Iranians threatened Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan that they will cut relations with them, but these countries didn’t fear. Israeli flags were hanged in the streets”, said Peres.
