Sargsyan acknowledges that no one can encroach on the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, says Zahid Abbasov after the visit to Nagorno Karabakh and Armenia
Abbasov said the contemporary world demanded to guide with civil rules, “I think we have to use all methods except bowing before the enemy. If I want to live in my homeland and I go to demand my home it doesn’t mean that I bow before the enemyâ€.
Abbasov said it needed to hold series of meetings to discuss the withdrawal of Armenian troops from the occupied territories. “There is a deep gap. It is very difficult for us. Our towns were destroyed, we were forced to leave our homes and there were thousands of martyrs. But we must return to those lands. We aim to live in our homeland. Why I have to live without home address. My home address in my passport is Shusha, Tabriz Street, 3. I want to live at my address and I demand it. Our main goal is that all Karabakh people, including Shusha residents to return to their homeland. The question is that can we live together, co-exist or not?â€.
Abbasov pointed out interesting points about details of the meeting with Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan: “Shusha has belonged to Azerbaijan and will belong to Azerbaijan henceforth. During the meeting with Armenian president he himself acknowledged that no one can encroach on the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. In general, we did not focus on the issue of territorial integrity. The main goal was to discuss ways of peoples’ return and their living together. Of course, the troops must be withdrawn and other issues should find their solution for this purpose.
According to Abbasov, the meeting with Sargsyan was more moderate compared to the meeting with head of the separatist regime of Nagorno Karabakh Bako Saakyan. Abbasov said Armenian president had sounded objective thoughts: “I cannot say how he was sincere whilst saying that he also wanted the normalization of the situation. But words and actions of Bako Saakyan were not properly understoodâ€,
