Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev congratulates Barack Obama on US Independence Day

The Presidentâ€™s press service told APA that head of state Ilham Aliyev on behalf of the government and the people of Azerbaijan had extended his warmest congratulations and best wishes to President Barack Obama and the people of the United States on the occasion of the Independence Day.

In his message, President Aliyev said he was happy to note that Azerbaijan and the United States had always enjoyed close and excellent cooperation in energy security and large-scale transnational projects and he was confident that these ties would continue to flourish in the coming years for the mutual benefit of the two countries: â€œWe have great hopes for US efforts as OSCE Minsk Group co-chair in the direction of just and peaceful solution to Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno Karabakh on the basis of international legal norms. I am confident that we will continue our activity in the direction of further strengthening of our partnership and all-round development of our intergovernmental relations henceforth. On this remarkable day, I express my best wishes to You and American peopleâ€.
