US Assistant Secretary of State: â€œWe will continue our active support to the solution to Nagorno Karabakh conflictâ€

He said US would continue its active support to the solution to Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Gordon said the US gave important to the meaningful relations with Armenia and showed an example that he paid his first official visit to Armenia.

Gordon met with Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan and discussed the Armenia-Turkey relations and Nagorno Karabakh solution process. Sargsyan said they supported peaceful solution to the conflict and were ready to continue the negotiations on the basis of Madrid proposals. Following the meeting the US Assistant Secretary of State answered the questions of the journalists. He said self-determination was an international principle like territorial integrity and non-use of force. â€œThe result must contain all three principles. Any voting mechanism enabling the people to express their thoughts should be included in the solution processâ€.
