Nearly two thousand Iranian citizens expected to vote in Baku

Baku. Lachin Sultanova – APA. Iranian citizens living in Azerbaijan can vote in the Iran’s presidential elections, the embassy of Iran told APA. The polling stations will be open at the consular section of the embassy and Iran’s Consulate General in Nakhchivan at 8.00 – 18.00 on June 12. Nearly two thousand Iranians are expected to vote in Baku. Iran will open outside polling stations in 130 countries totally.

The elections in Iran are organized by the election commission under the Interior Ministry. Four candidates will run for presidency on June 12: incumbent president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, former Prime Minister Mir Huseyn Musavi, former Parliament speaker Mehdi Karrubi and former commander of Islam Revolutionary Guard Corpse Mohsun Rezai. If no one of the candidates wins more than 50 percent of the votes, the second tour of the elections will be held.
