Firs meeting of Turkic-Speaking countries Parliamentary Assembly to be held in Baku in September

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev â€“ APA. The meeting of heads of parliament offices of the Turkic-Speaking countries Parliamentary Assembly (TurkPA) was held in Azerbaijani parliament, APA reports. Head of the parliamentâ€™s office Safa Mirzayev highly appreciated such meetings.
â€œThe event, which Turkic peoples and Turkic-speaking states wished for a long time, was realized in Istanbul on November 21 last year. Heads of parliaments of four Turkic-speaking states sign an agreement to establish Turkic-Speaking countries Parliamentary Assembly. It was decide to hold the first meeting of the assembly in Baku. This is a great honor for us,â€ he said.

Secretary General of Turkish parliament Ali Osman Koca, head of Kyrgyzstan parliament office Suyumbek Kasmambetov and head of Kazakhstan parliament office serik Sidikov also appreciated the event. It was decided to hold the first meeting of Turkic-Speaking countries Parliamentary Assembly in Baku on September 28-29, 2009. The place of the assemblyâ€™s General Secretariat, the agenda of the meeting to be held in Baku and other issues were discussed during the meeting. Protocol was signed at the end of the meeting.
