Morningstar mentioned that he met with Heydar Aliyev during his previous visit to Azerbaijan and added that the visit was connected with the start of the construction of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline. Morningstar underlined the regional and international importance of the project. Richard Morningstar also handed over U.S. President Barack Obama’s letter to Azerbaijani President.
The head of state regarded the construction of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline as a great achievement and underlined that other great energy projects initiated and joined by Azerbaijan would contribute to the expansion of international energy cooperation. Ilham Aliyev expressed his confidence that Azerbaijan would continue significant joint activities in the future.
