The statement says:
“Some newspaper reports about the May 20 closed meeting of Justice and Development Party contain wrong information. Some expressions written quoting Prime Minister on various issues, including respectable Azeri parliamentarians are not true. We call on the people not to believe such rumors.”

Pro-government Star newspaper wrote that Azerbaijani parliamentarians’ visit to Turkey was discussed during Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The newspaper writes that Erdogan told the parliamentarians from his party that those women had some “deep” relations in Turkey and their aim was to damage the relations between the two governments. By “deep relations” Erdogan meant Ergenekon, which is claimed to be secret terrorist organization.

A group of Azerbaijani parliamentarians visited Turkey when the issue on the reopening of Turkey-Armenia borders was being discussed. The visit caused great resonance.
