Mazahir Panahov meets with Indian ambassador

Baku. Elnur Mammadli â€“ APA. Indian ambassador to Azerbaijan Debnad Show met with Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov, CEC press service told APA. The CEC Chairman said Azerbaijan-Indian relations had a long history. Azerbaijan has established close friendly relations with India since the Soviet time. He said the relations between the two countries were developed in the years of independence. Panahov informed the ambassador about the composition and activity of election organizations, institute of observation, electoral legislation and said there was a perfect legislative basis and political will of the head of state for the realization of voting rights of the citizens.

The ambassador said Azerbaijan reached great achievements in many fields, including democratic state-building and civil society. He said the embassy would work with the CEC.
