Recep Tayyip Erdogan: Turkey-Armenia borders can not be opened, unless the occupation ends

After the meeting talks were held with participation of the two delegations, APA reports. Following the meeting and talks, Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a press conference. Ilham Aliyev said they had discussed bilateral relations, present state and prospects of economic relations, energy issue, situation in the region and ways of solution to Nagorno Karabakh problem. Underlining that the two countries had perfect bilateral relations Ilham Aliyev drew attention to the brotherhood between Azerbaijani and Turkish people.
â€œAzerbaijan-Turkey relations had great history. We are making efforts to improve these relations, achieve peace in the region, express joint positions on the international issues. We want peace to be achieved in the region, Azerbaijanâ€™s territorial integrity to be restored and cooperation to be extended in the region as soon as possible. We had a very sincere talk, clarified some issues and I am satisfied with it. We have splendid opportunities for joint activity,â€ he said.

Recep Tayyip Erodogan said he was pleased to be in brotherly and friendly Azerbaijan.
â€œWe discussed the bilateral relations with my honorable brother Ilham Aliyev. This meeting is the best reply to those attempting to cast shadow on our cooperation. We share Azerbaijanâ€™s sensitive approach to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Speculations over this issue are inadmissible. The question is the cause and consequence. The occupation of Nagorno Karabakh is the cause, closure of the borders with Armenia is the consequence. We closed the borders, as Azerbaijani territories were occupied. The borders can not be opened, unless the occupation ends. I state this openly and concretely in Baku. On the other hand, Minsk Group should accelerate the discussions and final results should be achieved. Of course, it is up to my honorable brother Ilham Aliyev and Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan to pass the final decision. After this decision we will do what depends on us,â€ he said.
