Ambassador Ivan Palchev’s “Azerbaijan – Caucasian Tiger” presented

A presentation of the book “Azerbaijan –Caucasian Tiger” by former Bulgarian ambassador to Azerbaijan Ivan Palchev was held at the Baku Slavic University (BSU), APA reports. BSU rector Kamal Abdullayev said the university’s professors and students played great role in the translation of the book. The rector spoke about the Azerbaijan-Bulgaria relations and said former and incumbent presidents of Bulgaria Jelu Jelev and Georgy Pirvanov were BSU honored doctors. Palchev described in his book the developments he watched in Azerbaijan over the five years and wrote about the history and culture of the country. He said first republic in the East was established in Azerbaijan in 1918 and the women received voting right in that time when the women even in Switzerland hadn’t it.

Chairman of the Bulgaria-Azerbaijan friendship group of the Bulgarian parliament Remzi Osmanov called the book as very important event and thanked Palchev on behalf of 200 parliamentarians and wished the current ambassador to write more volume book.

People’s writer Chingiz Abdullayev called Azerbaijan very unique country. “There is no such country that the ambassadors worked there return to this country to work there after the ending of diplomatic missions. Two former ambassadors of Georgia, former American, Italian and Uzbek ambassadors are working now in Azerbaijan”.

Bulgarian ambassador to Azerbaijan Vasil Kalinov, Belarusian ambassador to Azerbaijan Nikolay Patskevich, Chairman of the Azerbaijan-Bulgaria friendship group of Azerbaijani Parliament Rauf Aliyev attended the meeting.
