Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA. Large infrastructure projects in the South Caucasus caused new threats in the region as well, said NATO senior civil officer in Afghanistan Hikmet Cetin at the NATO-Azerbaijan partnership conference in Baku on Tuesday, APA reports.
“Russian invasion in Georgia last august showed that the region can face with such events every momentâ€, said Cetin.
He said the South Caucasus is the most useful route between Europe and Asia. The existent border disputes and conflicts cause an organized crime, drug trafficking, illegal migration and other specific threats.
