Azerbaijani House in Strasbourg organizes meeting with MP

Azerbaijani students of Strasbourg University, Azerbaijanis living in France and Germany, as well as representatives of the French community having friendly relation with Azerbaijan attended the meeting.

The participants of the meeting paid tribute to the victims of tragedy at the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy on April 30 with a minute of silence.

Then MP Rafael Huseynov informed the guests about the activity of Azerbaijani delegation to PACE and spoke about the document prepared in the spring session concerning the Nagorny Karabakh problem in the context of development of regional relations. He presented to the Azerbaijani House the new film about martyr of Karabakh war Farhad Atakishiyev. The publicist film was produced on the initiative of the State Commission for Captives, Hostages and Missing People.

Rafael Huseynov presented to the Azerbaijani Houseâ€™s library the newly-published book about the genocide committed by Armenians in Baku in the beginning of 20th century, â€œMarch 1918, Baku, Collection of the documents about the massacres and destructions against Azerbaijanisâ€.

Famous researcher of oriental studies Iren Melikoff willed most part of her library to the Azerbaijani House in Strasbourg and now many French and German researchers use it.

The member of the parliament said Strasbourg-based Azerbaijani House was one of the most active Azerbaijani organizations in France. The House regularly organizes various socio-political events and interesting meetings.

Huseynov answered the questions of the participants and said this year the Azerbaijani Literature Museum would organize at the Azerbaijani House in Strasbourg the conference and exhibition dedicated to Azerbaijani great poet Nizami Ganjavi within the worldwide series events on 800th anniversary of the poetâ€™s death.
