Ambassador Eynulla Madatli meets with newly-elected speaker of Pakistani Senate

Azerbaijanâ€™s Ambassador to Pakistan Eynulla Madatli met with Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan and Acting President Farooq Naek, Azerbaijani embassy in Pakistan told APA. The ambassador congratulated Mr. Farooq Naek on his appointment to the new post and wished him successes. He conveyed greetings of Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Mejlis Ogtay Asadov to Naek and expressed his confidence in further development of Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations. Farooq Naek said he knew about the visit of Azerbaijani parliamentarians to Pakistan, as well as the visit of Chairman and members of Pakistani senators to Azerbaijan. He said he wished to welcome Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Mejlis in Pakistan.

Ambassador Madatli told Farooq Naek Azerbaijan and Pakistan have close relations and Pakistan supports Azerbaijan at the UN General Assembly and Security Council and other international organizations and Azerbaijan highly appreciates this support. Farooq Naek emphasized the importance of Azerbaijanâ€™s support to Pakistan in Kashmir issue. He mentioned the importance of the development of relations in the field of defense industry, security and other prospective spheres and said the most important issue was the strengthening of direct relations between the peoples.

The Acting President said Pakistan would continue its resolute support to Azerbaijan in the issue of Nagorny Karabakh problem. He said Pakistan welcomed the large projects successfully carried out in Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev despite the world economic crisis and delivered his sincere greetings and wishes to the Azerbaijani leadership.
