Recep Tayyip Erdogan: Turkey has always defended Azerbaijanâ€™s rights and interests within its power

Erdogan said that talks on the normalization of the relations with Armenia were one of the important issues of Turkeyâ€™s diplomacy in April.
â€œUnfortunately, Turkeyâ€™s efforts to ensure regional peace were misrepresented and there were some attempts to damage the love between Turkey and Azerbaijan. All through the history and during our ruling Turkey has treated Azerbaijan brotherly. Turkey can not put forth an initiative that may harm Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani government and people. Turkey has never preferred its rights and interests to Azerbaijanâ€™s rights and interests and always defended Azerbaijanâ€™s interests within its power. The efforts to normalize Turkey-Armenia relations aim to ensure peace and stability in the region and eliminate the consequences of the armed conflicts. No one, especially our Azeri brothers should doubt it. I told it to Azerbaijani Defense Minister, honorable Safar Abiyev whom we have hosted this week,â€ he said.
