He called the banking sector of Azerbaijan stable and Central Bank provides necessary support to banks: “I think the processes in the currency market are only speculations. Some persons just earn money abusing the panic of the population. I think that the situation will be stabilized after the New Year. This is really meaningless and irrelevant anxiety. The speculators spread rumours. Why? This is in favour of them. Nowadays they earned money like never before. That’s all! I think there is no reason for panic”.
The banker said that exchange rate of corrected manat corresponds with the reality.
Huseynov noted he welcomes currency exchange offices to operate only in the departments and branches of the banks: “Let me give you an example: when a ship sinks, most of the passengers drown because of panic. To prevent any panic, it’s necessary to take a correct step. At the same time, you can’t find a currency exchange offices in the streets of many countries. They operate only in the departments and branches of banks. If anyone needs to exchange currency, he/she use plastic cards. The ATMs have both manat and USD”.
Huseynov added that Unibank prefers to carry out currency operations with the bank’s customers only: “Of course, we have not applied any limitation for sale and purchase of foreign currency”.
