SCC: Some businessmen try to avoid paying funds to state budget fully in import operations

According to statement, some businessmen are abusing manat devaluation and trying to avoid paying the funds to the state budget fully in import operations.

Chief of the Tariff and Currency Control Main Office of the State Customs Committee Mirgasim Vahabov said foreign economic activity participants must be attentive of prices and their evaluation when announcing the goods they import to the country.

“Giving the goods any price with any document does not lead to the proper evaluation of the goods. However, some businessmen abuse this and seek to introduce their goods in the name of original invoice. They need to know that Azerbaijan has laws and the customs evaluation of goods takes place in accordance with the law on customs tariff. The Customs Committee controls the introduction of goods for the protection of local producers and consumers. In case of any error in the documents presented, the goods are evaluated and the customs payment is paid to the state budget.

Mirgasim Vahabov also said that these businessmen are currently the ones who are amateur importers of fruit products. The minimum prices of all goods right now are defined and placed in specialized customs departments so that entrepreneurs can learn the prices.
