Azerbaijan-based banks see 26% rise in foreign liabilities year-on-year

Baku. Musa Ahmadov – APA-Economics. As of December 1, 2015, total foreign liabilities of Azerbaijan-based commercial banks stood at AZN 6,067,100,000, up AZN 1,247,900,000 or 25.89% from previous year.

Central Bank of Azerbaijan said foreign liabilities fell AZN 76.1 mln or 1.24% in November.

At the same time, as of December 1, 2015, banks’ total foreign assets stood at AZN 5,352.1 mln, up AZN 1,923.9 mln or 56.12% in comparison to a year earlier. Compared to previous months, total foreign assets raised AZN 636 mln or 13.49% in November.
