The foreign currency reserves of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) will reach the level of 15 billion dollars, APA-Economics reports, citing a forecast by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), the research and analysis division of The Economist Group.
It was noted that the CBA’s reserves amounted to 11 billion US dollars in 2024. This figure is expected to increase to 14.3 billion dollars in 2025 and to 14.8 billion dollars in 2026.
The EIU forecasted annual import volumes at 11.61 billion dollars in 2025 and 12.07 billion dollars in 2026. In other words, the CBA’s reserves will have the potential to cover 6.6 months of imports in 2025 and 6.5 months in 2026.
