Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. If any pressures on demand are created as a result of acceleration of increase of government expenditures and lending in Azerbaijan, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan will have to tighten monetary policy, said the IMF's chief of new mission on Azerbaijan Raja Al Marzouqi.
According to him, economic policy instruments in the country are limited, therefore strengthening of mechanism for transferring of interest rate influence by creating condition for being of exchange rate policy more prompt will support control the inflation changes for a long time.
IMF official also noted that existing exchange rate policy was not expected to change within next 1-2 years in Azerbaijan.
