EBRD's operational assets in Azerbaijan decrease by nearly 4%

As of August 31 this year, the volume of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s (EBRD) active portfolio in Azerbaijan decreased by 3.7% or 37 million euros compared to the previous month (April), falling to 954 million euros. The number of active projects implemented was 35, the EBRD told  APA-Economics.

It was noted that 89% of the portfolio (848 million euros) consists of investments in sustainable infrastructure, 5% (49 million euros) in industry, commerce, and agribusiness, and 6% (57 million euros) in financial institutions. In August, the volume of the Bank’s operational assets in the country decreased by 2.8% compared to the previous month, amounting to 697 million euros.

Thus, to date, the EBRD has invested a total of 3.673 billion euros in Azerbaijan within the framework of 200 projects, and 3.368 billion euros of this amount has already been disbursed by borrowers. The share of the private sector in total investments has amounted to 38%.
