"The current account surplus (CAS) for the first half of this year shows that the CBA's forecasts are justified," said Vugar Ahmadov, Director General of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), at a press conference, APA-Economics reports.
He said that in the first half of this year, the ratio of the current account surplus to the country's gross domestic product (GDP) was 6.4%, which indicates positive dynamics. In the medium term, forecasts indicate that the external sector will be favorable.
"In July, the current account surplus was forecast to be around 3-4 billion US dollars in 2025-2026. Additional clarifications may be made at the next meetings, but no serious correction is expected," Vugar Ahmadov added.
