Loans account for 64% of bank assets in Azerbaijan

Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics.As of November 1, total assets owned by Azerbaijan-based banks stood at AZN 9 941.5 million, up 64.6% on the same period last year. The National Bank of Azerbaijan said bank assets grew by 47.8% this year.
Loans lent to customers account for AZN 6 371.31 million or 64.08% of assets while the share was 65.3% early this year.
The structure of assets is as below:
(Lilac color stands for customer loans, dark red for correspondent accounts, yellow for investments, brown for loans and deposits to financial sector and pale red for other assets).
Obligations accounted for 83.75% or AZN 8 325.78 million of the bank’s total liabilities, up 48% on early this year.
Deposits accounted for 47.8% or AZN 3 978.1 million of liabilities.
