Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and South Korea reaches $650 mln

Baku. Anakhanym Hidayatova â€“ APA. Azerbaijan and South Korea continue political, economic and cultural cooperation, said the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Choi Suk-inn.

Noting the mutual visits of officials of both countries the ambassador said that, South Korean and Azerbaijani relevant organizations regularly discussed the extension of cooperation.

He also stressed that, near 40 documents were signed between the countries and these supported the cooperation. He noted that, two countries discussed establishment of relations in defense sphere: â€œA military attachÃ© was appointed to Azerbaijanâ€™s embassy in Korea and appointment of Korean attachÃ© to its embassy in Azerbaijan will support the cooperation in defense sphereâ€.

Speaking about economic links Choi Suk-inn stated that, the trade turnover between two countries reached $650 mln: â€œKorea exports to Azerbaijan mainly automobile and plastic and electron products, Azerbaijan exports to Korea oil, aluminum and copper products. Korean companies have invested $150 mln in Azerbaijan since 2008â€œ.
