Food prices in Armenia continue to rise

Baku â€“ APA-Economics. The annual inflation rate in Armenia constituted 2.5 percent more in September 2012, as compared with the same time period last year, the National Statistical Service informs, Information-Analytic Agency NEWS reported.

In addition, Septemberâ€™s inflation rate was 0.8 percent more, as compared with August.

To note, however, the countryâ€™s monthly inflation rate was dropping in the past five months.

As compared with August, Septemberâ€™s inflation rate grew primarily by a 1.5-10.7-percent increase in the prices of animal and vegetable oil, bread products, vegetables, and potatoes.

In twelve months, the prices of food itemsâ€”including alcoholic beverages and tobaccoâ€”have risen by 1.8 percent, those of non-food items, by 5.7 percent, and service fees increased by 2.1 percent.
