Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his determination for Ukraine to join NATO and highlighted the importance of the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius, APA reports citing Teletrader.
He emphasized the behind-the-scenes efforts being made to solidify Ukraine's integration into the alliance, acknowledging the support and joint declarations from many NATO member countries. Zelensky also underscored the significance of Kiev's role in ensuring security on NATO's eastern flank, stating that Ukraine is already de facto part of the alliance.
"The security reality here on NATO's eastern flank depends on Ukraine. When we applied to join NATO, we were frank: Ukraine is de facto already in the Alliance. Our weapons are the weapons of the Alliance. Our values are what the Alliance believes in," Zelensky stated.
