Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Friday that Kyiv has to "show results" on the battlefield before the NATO summit in Lithuania that will start July 11 but underlined that "every meter" won in the counteroffensive "costs a life," APA reports citing Teletrader.
Speaking in an interview with Spanish public broadcaster RTVE, Zelensky admitted that processes regarding the counteroffensive against Russian forces have slowed down mostly due to "heavy rains." The artillery that Kyiv had counted on in the fall of 2022 "arrived late" and that is why the attempt at a counteroffensive back then had to be stopped, he specified.
Zelensky claimed that Russian President Vladimir "Putin is in more danger than I am," expressing confidence that the United States will continue to support his country regardless of the outcome of the 2024 US elections.
