Baku-APA. A total of five U.S., Bulgarian and Romanian naval ships will hold a tactical drill in the northwestern part of the Black Sea on Tuesday, said the Bulgarian Navy in a statement Friday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

"The episodes of the exercise were planned in 2013. They are part of the joint training of the navies of the three countries, and have no relation with the events in Ukraine and the northeastern part of the Black Sea," said the Navy's statement.

Bulgaria will participate in the exercise with one frigate, Romania with three ships, and USS Truxtun would be the fifth warship in the drill, according to the statement.

The U.S. ship will also visit the Bulgarian Port of Varna from March 12 to 14.

According to the website of the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense, at least one more U.S. warship is scheduled to visit Bulgaria in July this year to participate in the multinational naval exercise named Breeze.
