The General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces on Monday said that 16 of its soldiers were killed, 6 injured in a roadside bomb attack carried out by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), one of the deadliest attacks ever carried out by the group, in the Daglica district, Hakkari province on Sept.6.
The Turkish army issued another statement in early Monday, saying that two F-4s and two F-16s carried out strikes in retaliation to 13 targets controlled by militants suspected to have carried out the attack. "Despite bad weather, the operation is continuing decisively," it said.
