At least 760 terrorists were “neutralized” in operations against PKK terrorist organization and its affiliated groups inside and outside Turkey in the first month of 2018, APA reports quoting Anadolu Agency.
Turkish authorities often use the word "neutralized" in their statements to imply the terrorists in question either surrendered or were killed or captured.
According to an Anadolu Agency correspondent, nine security officials were martyred in PKK’s terrorist attacks in January. In the same attacks, eight civilians lost their lives and 89 others sustained injuries.
A total of 137 suspects -- including provincial heads of the opposition Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), members of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) and Leyla Guven, co-chair of umbrella group Democratic Society Congress (DTK) -- were arrested in January in nationwide operations against PKK terrorist organization and its youth structuring.
