Shooting begins between security forces and PKK terrorists in Turkey, some killed and wounded

APA reports that thus far, 2 persons were reportedly killed and dozens were wounded. According to the report, officers of the security forces were subjected to rocket attacks and fires from large-caliber weapons by terrorists while they were filling the trenches dug by the terrorists in the district’s center. Shooting began upon the police officers’ response to the attacks.

Currently, the shooting is continuing. Gendarmerie forces were involved in the scene. Fire was recoded in some houses in the area where the shooting took place. The Turkish Armed Forces’ helicopters are providing air support to the security forces.

The PKK terrorists attacked an air traffic control station of the airport in Siirt province. They tied hands and legs of 18 security service officers, took their phones and then set fire to the station. They managed to flee the scene before the security forces arrived at the scene.
