Serbia outlines its OSCE Chairmanship’s priorities

"Dialogue and compromise, peaceful resolution of disputes, confidence-building are some of the main tenets of Serbian OSCE Chairmanship," OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić said at a meeting of the Permanent Council, it was posted on OSCE's Twitter page.

“Serbian OSCE Chairmanship comes at a very difficult moment. We need to pledge our collective support to the peaceful settlement of protracted conflicts, generate the necessary political will. As OSCE Chair, Serbia aims to translate the lessons learnt from our experiences to the wider OSCE geography

Situation in and around Ukraine continues to pose a serious threat for stability of the region, and European and global security. I urge all sides in Ukraine to halt use of force and exercise restraint.

Recent events have highlighted once again that intl community should remain vigilant in face of existing, emerging terrorist threats.

2015 marks 40 years of Helsinki Final Act - this left us an invaluable legacy in print and deed. Freedom of expression and protection of journalists need to be safeguarded in the face of ever growing challenges posed to them,” said Dačić.

Dačić also noted that we need to pledge our collective support to the peaceful settlement of protracted conflicts, generate the necessary political will.
