Baku-APA. Polish-American relations continue to be good and are of fundamental importance, according to Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk after his meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama on Tuesday, APA reports quoting XInhua.
"So much has changed around us but our relations and their character have not changed, meaning that they remain just as good and are just as fundamentally important as they have been in the past," Tusk told a press conference on Tuesday.
He said he had thanked Obama for the United States' rapid and very effective reaction to the Ukrainian crisis.
Tusk added that he had informed Obama of the Poland's "readiness to strengthen the Polish defense effort."
"We will do our best to win over our European allies ... to a joint European drive to increase defense capacity and solidarity," Tusk said.
