Baku – APA. On August 27, the new NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Centre was inaugurated at the Krtsanisi Military Facility in Tbilisi.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili, Prime Minister Garibashvili, Foreign Minister Tamar Beruchashvili and Defense Minister Tinatin Khidasheli.
Making a speech at the ceremony, Margvelashvili said that Georgia is building up its defense capability. He addressed the soldiers, saying they have achieved this day at the expense of their own blood.
Prime Minister Garibashvili in turn noted that the activity of the training center is not aimed against any neighboring country.
Welcoming Georgia’s “remarkable progress” on reforms, Stoltenberg expressed appreciation for the country’s commitment to Euro-Atlantic integration, saying he looked forward to continued progress. “Euro-Atlantic integration is not an easy road; it takes time, determined efforts and real change,” the Secretary General said. “NATO counts on Georgia, and Georgia can count on NATO”, he stressed.
