NATO aviation drill for dealing with radio interference begins in Bulgaria

Baku-APA. An exercise of the NATO air defense for actions in the conditions of radio interference kicked off in Bulgaria, the country's Ministry of Defense said in a statement on Thursday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

The bilateral drill "Ramstein Guard-8," involving the Air Forces of Bulgaria and Italy, will continue until next Friday, the statement said.

Italian aircraft Tornado and Eurofighter Typhoon, temporarily based in the Balkan country, and Bulgarian MiG-29 and MiG-21 along with anti-aircraft missile squadrons, radar stations and command posts, will participate in the exercise, the statement said.

From the end of August to the first decade of September, 12 U.S. aircraft temporarily guarded Bulgarian airspace under the integrated NATO air defense system during the U.S.-Bulgarian flight training "Thracian Eagle 2014".
