Baku. Faiq Mahmudov - APA. Heavy rains for successive days have swollen rivers in eastern Slovenia, causing the death of one person and extensive flooding in some flood-prone areas in the country, Slovenian Television reported on Saturday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
Flooding has hit large swathes of eastern and south-central part of the country, in particular the watersheds of the Krka River and the Sava, the longest river in Slovenia.
At least one person was reportedly killed and another one missing when their car plunged into a stream due to the collapse of river banks near Vransko, some 50 km north-east of Ljubljana.
In addition, hundreds of buildings have been flooded, in particular in Dolenjsko region, along the Krka. Dozens of country road have also closed due to flooding and landslides.
