Baku-APA. Newly-appointed French Prime Minister Manuel Valls on Tuesday vowed determination and swift acts to win back confidence of French voters by delivering on promises of better growth and more jobs, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

"The government is committed to respond the expectations of French people and implement the roadmap set by the President of the Republic: growth, employment, purchasing power," Valls stressed after meeting the Socialist group at the National Assembly.

"Everyone should be up to the responsibility. We are witnessing a serious and difficult moment. Everyone should be at the gravity of the moment that we are experiencing," he said.

Appointed to lead "a fighting government" against unemployment and ailing economy, Valls was due to outline his team's financial roadmap at the lower house of parliament to win a confidence vote despite rising resistance from the Green and far-Left parties.

During his address to the lawmakers, the new premier was expected to detail ways to lower spending by 50 billion euros (68.83 billion U.S. dollars) without hampering growth, and to make the "responsibility pact" more palatable.

Winning the confidence vote would be Valls' first political test to push ahead with the government's reforms to bring down record joblessness rate, expand growth and improve welfare.
