Baku. Zumrud Pashayeva – APA. French aircraft carried out first airstrikes targeting facilities in Iraq held by the Islamic State (IS) militants Friday, APA reports quoting RIA Novosti.
The airstrikes were carried out on Friday morning and targeted warehouses where IS stored its weapons.
France's president says he has agreed to the Iraqi government's request for air support for forces fighting the jihadist group, Islamic State (IS). Francois Hollande told reporters that French air strikes would only target the jihadist group's positions in Iraq, and not neighboring Syria.
