Baku – APA. Czech President Miloš Zeman will not participate in the Victory Parade to be held on May 9 in the Red Square of Moscow. Although the president visited Moscow to attend events on the 70th anniversary of the victory, he will not join the parade, said Presidential spokesperson JiÅ™í OvÄáÄek, adding that at the time the parade will be on, President Zeman will be holding a meeting with Prime Minister Robert Fico, APA reported citing RBK.
Note that, there has been some discontent between the Czech president and the US ambassador to Prague. US ambassador Andrew Schapiro has said Zeman’s visit to Russia will be a blow to the West’s common positions with regard to Ukraine. Zeman in response vowed he will not permit the ambassador to enter his residence.
