The conference to be held on Novbember 30-December 11 will bring heads of states and governments together from 195 countries. Turkish President Receb Tayyip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin are expected to attend the conference. The two presidents are likely to have a meeting on the sidelines of the conference.
Meanwhile, the relations were strained between the countries after the downing of the Russian warplane near the Syrian border. Although Erdogan repeatedly requested a meeting with his Russian counterpart after the incident, Putin did not respond positively to this initiative. “If Turkey doesn’t apologize to Russia, the meeting won't take place”, said Putin.
