The World Bank will allocate $1 billion for the reconstruction of the regions affected by the earthquake in Türkiye, APA reports citing NTV.
The World Bank has approved a decision to allocate $1 billion to Türkiye to help rebuild housing and basic utilities in earthquake-hit areas.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said during his speech that in October-November of the current year, the government plans to start putting houses into use for the residents of the regions affected by the earthquake.
Recall that on February 6 of 2023, strong earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 occurred in Kahramanmaraş province in southeastern Türkiye with a 9-hour interval.
Earthquakes were felt in 11 provinces of the country and neighboring countries, including Syria. The Turkish government called the earthquake "the disaster of the century". The number of people who died as a result of the natural disaster reached 50,500.
