"West wanted to somehow freeze the conflict in Ukraine in order to buy time in order to pump more weapons into that country," Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an online briefing for local and foreign media on Friday, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
Speaking at a news conference, Lavrov accused Western countries of taking a “schizophrenic” approach to the conflict.
He said the West first wanted to see Russia lose on the battlefield and for its leaders to go on trial - and only then to press for peace in Ukraine.
