Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov insisted on Wednesday that a potential displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip would not resolve the long-lasting Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but would rather be a "time bomb" in the Middle East region, APA reports citing baha breaking news.
"The creation of a Palestinian State is the key issue, and if there are attempts to undermine those Security Council decisions and substitute the establishment of a Palestinian State with the resettlement of Palestinians throughout the region, that will only set off a time bomb, as has happened so many times over the long decades of ignoring the demands for a two-state solution," the minister said at a press conference in Doha during an official visit to Qatar.
Lavrov's remarks came after United States President Donald Trump proposed displacing Palestinians from Gaza to neighboring countries to rebuild the enclave and make it a "Riviera" of the Middle East.
