The protest action held on Rustaveli Avenue in the Georgian capital Tbilisi has ended, APA reports citing Georgian media.

In addition, special forces officers have also evacuated the area around the parliament building. At the same time, police forces and equipment have been withdrawn from Freedom Square.

Remind that the protest actions have been taking place on Rustaveli Avenue for the seventh day. Citizens are protesting the Georgian government's decision not to bring the issue of starting negotiations with the European Union to the agenda until the end of 2028.

After the action ended, members of the special forces also left Chichinadze and Chitadze streets.

Currently, there are only police officers who set up posts and conduct patrols in the area.

Several hundred supporters of the Georgian opposition gathered again on Wednesday at the parliament building in Tbilisi, APA reports. 

The police blocked traffic on Gia Chanturia Street, located next to the parliament. At the same time, the movement of cars on Rustaveli Avenue is not blocked. 

According to local TV reports, some of the opposition also gathered at the offices of opposition parties, where police are conducting searches, and at police stations where detained opposition members were taken, in particular, the leader of the Coalition for Change, Nika Gvaramiya.
