Finland's Prime Minister Sanna Marin seemed to have lost her second term attempt on Sunday, as the center-right National Coalition Party (NCP), led by Petteri Orpo, claimed victory.
"Based on this result, talks over forming a new government in Finland will be initiated under the leadership of the National Coalition Party," Orpo told the press.
With nearly 97.7% of the votes tallied, the NCP was leading, closely followed by the right-wing populist The Finns, with 20.1%, and the Social Democrats, with 19.9%. With these results, no party will be able to form a government alone, getting each around 20%.
