Electricity, heating and gasoline prices in Germany have increased by 41% in the last three years. writes about this Bergedorfer Zeitung With a link to data on the Verivox consumer portal, APA reports citing German media.

While an average family of three spent 3,772 euros a year on these needs in 2021, this amount has now increased to 5,306 euros.

The reason for the increase is the global energy crisis, which has worsened after the start of Russia’s special operation against Ukraine. Therefore, Germany lost its sources of cheap Russian gas, oil and coal.

Both Nord Stream gas pipelines are no longer operational. The first line was blown up in the Baltic Sea in 2022, and although the second line survived, it does not provide fuel – the Germans never allowed to operate Nord Stream 2.
