Ukraine's ambassador to Türkiye says "certain negotiations" are under way on the Black Sea grain deal which collapsed last summer, APA reports citing SKY News.
"Unfortunately, this grain initiative is not functioning at the moment, although certain negotiations are ongoing to find a format for possible assistance from international partners to Ukraine," Vasyl Bodnar told an online briefing.
The UN-brokered deal, agreed in July 2022, had allowed for the safe export of grain from Ukraine's ports in the Black Sea.
Russia refused to extend the deal in July 2023, complaining that promises to free up its own shipments of food and fertilisers had not been kept.
The following month, Ukraine announced a temporary humanitarian corridor for merchant ships sailing to and from Ukrainian ports.
