The 36th NATO Summit being held in Ankara, begins today with the Defence Industry Forum, APA's Türkiye bureau reports.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will deliver the opening speech at the forum, after which Türkiye's Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler will address the participants.
The day's program includes meetings of foreign and defence ministers, as well as an official dinner for leaders. On the second day of the summit, a meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the level of heads of state and government will be held.
Within the framework of the summit, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is expected to hold bilateral meetings with several leaders, primarily U.S. President Donald Trump. It is reported that the Erdoğan–Trump meeting will discuss Türkiye's possible return to the F-35 program, the sale of F110 engines for the KAAN project, as well as the situation in Syria and Gaza.
